USA Today Names Franklin One of the ‘Most Livable’ Cities in the US
USA Today has officially named their 50 Most Livable Cities in the United States for 2017. The list includes cities from all parts of the country from New York to Georgia. Only one of our state’s cities made the list, though. The magazine list included Franklin as the best place to live in Tennessee.
The publication addresses the impact the economy can have on a city, both positively and negatively. They quote Franklin as having “only 3.3% unemployment and an 8.4% uptick in total employment between 2014 and 2016 — more than double comparable U.S. employment growth rate — the economy is a boon.”
The economy hasn’t only improved Franklin but so has education. According to USA Today, 58.5% of adults in the city have at least a bachelor’s degree. That’s even more than the American average, which is only 31.3%. “Better-educated populations also tend to be higher earning, and Franklin’s labor force is no exception. The typical area household earns $91,657 a year, or $34,000 more than the typical American household,” they write.
While we’re not surprised Franklin was listed as one of the country’s “most livable” cities, we’re glad. The town south of Nashville is a gem in Williamson County that’s perfect for single life or family living.
