Nashville Sets a New May Record for Home Sales
May was a huge month for Nashville real estate. It was so big that it was actually a record-breaking month!
According to the Tennessean, a realtor trade group tracked home sales in May of 2017. They estimate that 3,943 homes were sold that month alone. Nashville has never seen a May month with that many home sales — ever!
Even though the month was a hot one as far as sales, there still isn’t a lot of inventory in Middle Tennessee. According to the newspaper, inventory usually goes up through the summer with the culmination in September.
“In spite of the low supply levels, Middle Tennessee joins the majority of the country in experiencing healthy market trends,” the Greater Nashville Realtors president, Scott Troxel, told the Tennessean.
May also saw homes selling faster than last year. This May, houses were on the market for an average of 27 days. Last year, it was 32 days.
