Johnny Cash’s Former Estate Appraises for $3.95 Million
Johnny Cash’s former estate is on the market once again. This time, the Old Hickory Lake home has had a huge price increase. It’s now listed for $3.95 million after a new appraisal, according to The Tennessean.
This estate, which sits at 200 Caudill Drive in Hendersonville, was the spot where Cash and June Carter Cash lived for 35 years. It’s a special space with “four separate parcels of an acre or more.” That’s right, this is prime lakefront property with 4.5 acres on it. It's got the possibility for a buyer looking to separate the parcels or someone looking to keep them together and build a large home.
Aside from the vast property right on the lake, there’s also a 546-square-foot log cabin that June used as her dressing room. The cabin is now considered a luxury apartment. There’s also a dock, a swimming pool, a tennis court and a security station. There’s also a fence surrounding the gated property.
Barry Gibb, one of the Bee Gees, also owned the property up until 2014 when he sold it. At that time, Gibb sold it to James Gresham for $2 million. A couple of years later, Gresham put the property on the market. There was no price listed for the estate at the time but The Tennesseean reported that it had been appraised for $1.14 million. Once the home didn’t sell, they took it off the market.
Now, Gresham is ready to sell and the most recent appraisal shows the home has only increased in value. The increase comes because of the amount of space on the lake, which is a rare find in that area.
