Five Ways to Get Your Porch Ready for Fall
Fall is underway here in Middle Tennessee and it’s time to get your porch on the same page. Whether you want to add just a few fall touches or completely revamp your porch for the season, we have a few ideas to inspire you!
Chrysanthemums (better known as mums) are the perfect porch plant for fall. According to Spring Green, “this is because mums tend to continue blooming long after many other flowering plants have ceased for the season.” Add some potted mums to your porch, or along the steps to your porch, and you’ll have an autumnal feel to your entryway in no time.
Get a Fall Wreath
This is one of the easiest ways to bring a little fall to your front door. Just get a fall wreath and decorate your door with it. If you’re crafty, you can even make one yourself using inspiration from Country Living.
Place Some Pumpkins
Southern Living suggests using pumpkins to decorate your porch this fall. During this season, there are a ton of options when it comes to pumpkin decor. They come in a variety of different colors and sizes and the southern magazine suggests using them in a “cheery pumpkin stack.” They also can be hollowed out to hold your mums for an extra festive feel!
If you have a spacious porch with seating, you can simply add pillows in seasonal colors. Wayfair currently has new arrivals that range from football themed pillows to Halloween pillows and beyond. See them here.
Paint Your Front Door
If you want to update your style with something that requires a little more commitment, give your front door a facelift. Update the paint with something that looks a little more fall — maybe a dark red or orange.
