Five Ways to Bring Summer Vibes into Your Home
The first day of summer may still be a month away (June 21) but the temperatures in Middle Tennessee sure feel like summer. With a change of season approaching, it’s a great time to update your home’s interior decor. Here are five ways to bring summer vibes into your home.
Different Patterns & Textures
Summer is the perfect time to give your home decor a little refresh! An easy, yet effective way to do that is with different patterns and textures. According to House Beautiful, the tactile trend is very popular right now. “This look is all about creating a [cozy] feel, mix your textures and team with tactile throws and cushions.”
Animal prints are a surprising choice for summer but it’s the perfect way to add a pop of nature to your home. Opt for a lighter color and, as always, don’t go overboard. If animal print isn’t the print you’re looking for, keep your interior simple and mix and match a few patterns here and there.
Copper may be another color that makes you think of warm weather but The Spruce has other ideas. They shared a cozy, summer-perfect bedroom and the main tone is copper! They added pale pink to counteract the darker shade and it’ll instantly make you feel like you’re ready for a day at the pool.
“Organic style ceramics with subtle patterns and an artisanal element will be popular this summer,” according to HB. Patterned ceramics are perfect for the dining room and kitchen. Add a patterned vase to your table with your favorite flowers or give ceramic glasses to go with dinner. There are so many options for this style!
Color is your friend, especially in the summer. Add a new, bright painting to your entryway to invite guests. Replace your tan outdoor furniture cushions with teal or yellow ones. Put bright decorative pillows on your neutral colored couch. Need more inspiration? Martha Stewart has a few ideas.
When you think about summer nights, you probably think about cocktails and cookouts on someone’s porch. Invite your friends to your porch and make it summertime ready with some outdoor bulb lights! Stream them across your deck, through your pergola or string them from fence post to fence post. There’s no wrong way to hang outdoor lighting!
