Country singer-songwriter, Jake Owen, has listed his Cheatham County home for $1.5 million. The home was previously owned by country legend Loretta Lynn.

According to The Tennessean, the house is 4,918-square feet and it was completely custom made. It’s a single-family home that sits on more than seven wooded acres in Kingston Springs. The beautiful home has three bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms but that’s just the beginning. The house also has its own recording studio, a hot tub and its own outdoor tiki bar!

USA Today Names Franklin One of the ‘Most Livable’ Cities in the US

USA Today has officially named their 50 Most Livable Cities in the United States for 2017. The list includes cities from all parts of the country from New York to Georgia. Only one of our state’s cities made the list, though. The magazine list included Franklin as the best place to live in Tennessee.

The publication addresses the impact the economy can have on a city, both positively and negatively. They quote Franklin as having “only 3.3% unemployment and an 8.4% uptick in total employment between 2014 and 2016 — more than double comparable U.S. employment growth rate — the economy is a boon.”

Nashville Builder Spends $10 Million, Plans Two Housing Communities

David McGowan, a Nashville homebuilder, has purchased over 300 acres in Nashville. The builder has big plans for the property. He hopes to build two housing communities.

According to The Tennessean, McGowan paid $10.58 million dollars for the two properties recently. He bought 331 acres all together and plans to create 1,600 homes. These will be the Burkitt Ridge and Carothers Farms communities, they’ll have houses ranging from $200,000 to $400,000.

“We consider this area to be one of the highest job growth areas in Middle Tennessee,” he said of the areas. Because of that, McGowan plans to create communities with retail and office space as well as live/work areas.
