Travel + Leisure Names Nashville a Top Travel Destination for 2017
Travel + Leisure’s highly anticipated annual list helps travelers nail down their vacation destinations early in the year. They work for months judging the local hotels and unique eateries as well as researching news and events to get the Top 50 perfect! This year they included Paros in Greece, Nicaragua, Madagascar, a couple of spots in Mexico and our very own Nashville!
The publication gave Music City a spot on the list in part because several historical music landmarks are celebrating their anniversaries. That’s right, 2017 is going to be another huge year! The historic Ryman Auditorium will turn 125 years young, the Country Music Hall of Fame turns 50 and the Bluebird Cafe turns 35.
Delicious new restaurants and several new hotels helped the Tennessee capitol earn its spot. The Westin Nashville that recently opened is mentioned (if you haven’t visited there yet the rooftop bar alone is a spot you don’t want to pass up!) as well as a couple of hotels that are forthcoming. Travel + Leisure says there are two more hotels set to open in 2017 — a boutique hotel named Kimpton and a museum hotel called 21c.
