Tips for Selling Your Home This Holiday Season

It may be the holiday season but the housing market is not slowing down. Buyer demand is high and holiday buyers are looking to purchase quickly!

Anyone looking to buy or sell before Jan. 1 will potentially feel rushed and may have to face inclement weather but shoppers realize the perks are better than the pains. There is no better Christmas gift than finding the perfect home for your family. Take advantage of serious shoppers this holiday season and get your home SOLD!

If you’re looking to sell your house during the holidays, we have a few tips:

1. Don’t Deck Too Many Halls

Although you may be tempted to channel your inner Clark Griswold, keep your Christmas decorations classy and simple. Opt for clear, white lights instead of multi-colored ones indoors to keep your house looking clean. If your tree is real, be sure to clean any needles before potential buyers visit your home. Don’t overdo it and you’ve got an upper hand if the Griswolds are also looking to sell in your neighborhood.

2. Celebrate with Smells

If your tree is cashmere or plastic, add a few scented ornaments to give your home a fresh pine smell. Buy holiday-scented potpourri and candles to add scents to some of the other rooms in the house. Throw a fresh cut pine wreath on your door to welcome visitors with an immediate holiday greeting! Remember less is more, but subtle smells are the perfect addition to your house this December.

3. Bake Seasonal Goodies at an Open House

Open houses are primetime for fresh baked goodies. Realtors will usually pop a sheet of chocolate chip cookies in the oven but, this holiday season, encourage your Synergy realtor to heat up some apple cider. The beloved drink will keep potential buyers warm and will fill your home with the smell of fresh apples!

These are just a few tips to help get your home sold this holiday season, but your Synergy realtor will have many more. Happy holidays from Synergy Realty Network!
