Ryman Hospitality is Bringing a New Water Park to Nashville
Big news from Ryman Hospitality! The real estate investment trust is planning a major water park at Nashville’s Opryland.
According to The Tennessean, sources have confirmed that Ryman will finally move forward with the water park plans at the Opryland Resort and Convention Center. This is a big step since they’ve had several failed ideas in the past including a snow park and a park with a Dolly Parton theme. This one looks like it will actually stick.
They’ll officially discuss details at Opryland on Jan. 25 with a detailed press conference but, until then, Nashville residents are pretty excited with the news. Ryman Hospitality Chairman and CEO, Colin Reed, did say the “the major project … will be for hotel guests only.”
This is a major difference between the forthcoming water park and the previous Opryland theme park. The group hopes that this will attract more families to Opryland and more tourists to Music City, in general. It could end up being a great new addition to the city.
Ryman Hospitality is having quite the year and it’s only January! They’re making major investments in Nashville real estate outside of this water park. The real estate investment trust is also behind the Blake Shelton themed venue, Ole Red, that’s heading for downtown. The venue will also contain a restaurant and bar and, judging by the photos, it will be pretty lavish. Ole Red is expected to cost roughly $20 million.
