Nashville Builder Spends $10 Million, Plans Two Housing Communities
David McGowan, a Nashville homebuilder, has purchased over 300 acres in Nashville. The builder has big plans for the property. He hopes to build two housing communities.
According to The Tennessean, McGowan paid $10.58 million dollars for the two properties recently. He bought 331 acres all together and plans to create 1,600 homes. These will be the Burkitt Ridge and Carothers Farms communities, they’ll have houses ranging from $200,000 to $400,000.
“We consider this area to be one of the highest job growth areas in Middle Tennessee,” he said of the areas. Because of that, McGowan plans to create communities with retail and office space as well as live/work areas.
McGowan is currently waiting on construction permits for the Burkitt Ridge Community. He hopes that they’ll be obtained so they can begin work in spring of 2018. There is no word on when construction at Carothers Farms will begin but they do hope to gain more than 150 extra acres for that property in the coming years.
